The Key (Al-Faatehah)

7 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir) before Thorns (Al-Masad)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate 1

Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds; 2 the Beneficent, the Merciful; 3 The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) 4 You alone we worship, and to You alone turn for help. 5 Guide us Thou unto the path straight 6 The way of those whom You have favoured, who did not incur Your wrath, who are not astray. 7

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
