Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 He thinks that his wealth will immortalise him forever. 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the crushing torment. 4 And what could make thee conceive what that crushing torment will be? 5 The fire of Allah, that is ablaze. 6 Reaching right into the hearts of men, 7 It will engulf them. 8 In columns outstretched. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
