A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AlifLaamMeemSaad. 1 A book has been revealed to you, (Muhammad). You should not hesitate to convey its warning and its good advice to the believers. 2 "Follow what has been sent down unto you by your Sustainer, and follow no masters other than Him. How seldom do you keep this in mind! 3 And how many a [rebellious] community have We destroyed, with Our punishment coming upon it by night, or while they were resting at noontide! 4 Yet their cry, when Our punishment came to them, was nothing but that they said: Surely we were unjust. 5 Then shall We question those to whom Our message was sent and those through whom We sent it 6 And verily, We shall recount their whole story with knowledge, for We were never absent (at any time or place). 7 On that Day, the weighing is true. He whose scales are heavy those are the prosperers, 8 Those whose scale will be light, will be their souls in perdition, for that they wrongfully treated Our signs. 9 We have made you inhabit the land and provided you with the means of sustenance. Only a few of you give thanks. 10
