Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
All praises and thanks be to Allah, Who (Alone) created the heavens and the earth, and originated the darkness and the light, yet those who disbelieve hold others as equal with their Lord. 1 It is He who created you of clay, then determined a term and a term is stated with Him; yet thereafter you doubt. 2 although He is God in the heavens and on earth, knowing all that you keep secret as well as all that you do openly, and knowing what you deserve. 3 (The unbelievers) have always turned away from the revelations and the evidence (of the Truth) that has been sent to them from time to time. 4 And they denied the truth when it came unto them. But there will come unto them the tidings of that which they used to deride. 5 Have they not seen how many a people We have destroyed before them? People whom We had made more powerful in the earth than you are and upon them We showered from the heavens abundant rains, and at whose feet We caused the rivers to flow? And then (when they behaved ungratefully) We destroyed them for their sins, and raised other peoples in their place. 6 (O Messenger!) Had We sent down to you a book incribed on parchment, and had they even touched it with their own hands, the unbelievers would still have said: 'This is nothing but plain magic.' 7 They say: "How is it no angel was sent down to him?" Had We sent an angel down the matter would have come to end, and they would have had no respite. 8 Even if We had sent down an angel as messenger he would have appeared in the garb of a man and filled them with confusion, like the one they are filled with. 9 And indeed before your time (O Muhammad!) many a Messenger has been scoffed at; but those who mocked at them were encompassed by the Truth they had scoffed at. 10
