And who is more unjust than one who fabricates lies against Allah or denies His signs? Undoubtedly, the unjust will never succeed. 21 And on the day We gather them together We shall say unto those who ascribed partners (unto Allah): Where are (now) those partners of your make-believe? 22 Then they will have no excuse but to say: by God our Lord, we have not been associaters. 23 See how they will lie about themselves. And lost from them will be what they used to invent. 24 And of them is he who hearkens to you, and We have cast veils over their hearts lest they understand it and a heaviness into their ears; and even if they see every sign they will not believe in it; so much so that when they come to you they only dispute with you; those who disbelieve say: This is naught but the stories of the ancients. 25 And they prevent [others] from him and are [themselves] remote from him. And they do not destroy except themselves, but they perceive [it] not. 26 If you should see them when they are stood before the Fire, they will say: "Ah would that we were sent back (to the world)! We shall not deny the signs of our Lord, and be among those who believe." 27 But what they concealed before has [now] appeared to them. And even if they were returned, they would return to that which they were forbidden; and indeed, they are liars. 28 And they say: There is nothing but our life of this world, and we shall not be raised. 29 If you could but see when they will be made to stand before their Lord. He will say, "Is this not the truth?" They will say, "Yes, by our Lord." He will [then] say, "So taste the punishment because you used to disbelieve." 30
