A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 This Book has been sent down to you; so do not hesitate to warn (the unbelievers) through it, and remind the faithful. 2 Follow what has been revealed to you by your Lord, and do not follow any other lord apart from Him. Yet little do you care to remember. 3 And how many a [rebellious] community have We destroyed, with Our punishment coming upon it by night, or while they were resting at noontide! 4 Then naught was their cry when Our violence came upon them save that they said: verily we have been the wrong-doers. 5 Then shall We question those to whom Our message was sent and those through whom We sent it 6 Then most certainly We will relate to them with knowledge, and We were not absent. 7 The weighing that day is true; he whose scales are heavy -- they are the prosperers, 8 Those whose scale will be light, will be their souls in perdition, for that they wrongfully treated Our signs. 9 We established you in the land and provided you with a means of livelihood there: yet you are seldom thankful. 10
