Al-A 'araaf 8 of 24
Indeed, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people and he said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La ilaha ill-Allah: none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Certainly, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day!" 59 The elders of his people replied: "We see clearly that you have gone astray." 60 He said: O my people! there is no error in me, but I am an apostle from the Lord of the worlds. 61 sent to preach to you the message of my Lord and to give you good advice. I know what you do not know about God. 62 Do you find it so strange that a message should come from your Lord through a man from among yourselves, so that he may warn you and so that you may fear God and be shown mercy?" 63 But they called him a liar, so We delivered him and those with him in the ark, and We drowned those who rejected Our communications; surely they were a blind people. 64
