Said the chieftains of Firaun’s people, “He is really an expert magician.” 109 "He wants to get you out of your land, so what do you advise?" 110 They said: "Put him and his brother off (for a time), and send callers (men) to the cities to collect (and) - 111 "That they bring up to you all well-versed sorcerers." 112 And the enchanters came to Firon (and) said: We must surely have a reward if we are the prevailing ones. 113 He said, “Yes, and you will then become close to me.” 114 They said: 'Moses, will you throw first or shall we be the throwers' 115 He said, "Throw," and when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people and struck terror into them, and they presented a great [feat of] magic. 116 And we revealed unto Musa: cast down thy rod. And lo! it was swallowing up that which they had feigned. 117 ۞ Thus truth was confirmed, and all that they did was made of no effect. 118 The magicians who were defeated on the spot and were proved to be worthless, 119 And the sorcerers fell down prostrate. 120 saying, "We declare our belief in the Lord of the Universe, 121 the Lord of Moses and Aaron!" 122 Pharaoh said: Ye believe in Him before I give you leave! Lo! this is the plot that ye have plotted in the city that ye may drive its people hence. But ye shall come to know! 123 most certainly shall I cut off your hands and your feet in great numbers, because of [your] perverseness, and then I shall most certainly crucify you, in great numbers, all together!" 124 They said, 'Surely unto our Lord we are turning. 125 And what is it for which thou takest vengeance on us save that we have believed in the signs of our Lord when they came unto us? Our Lord! pour out upon us perseverance and cause us to die as Muslims. 126
