In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 As justification or warning, 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a known extent. 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 The living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 So like golden camels." 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
