And when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts was sickness said: 'Those, their religion has deceived them' But whosoever puts his trust in Allah, indeed Allah is Mighty, Wise. 49 If you could see, when the angels take the souls of those who are bent on denying the truth [at death], how they strike their faces and backs: saying "Taste the punishment of the Burning! 50 “This is the recompense of what your own hands have sent ahead, and Allah does not oppress His bondmen.” 51 Their case is like that of the people of Pharaoh and those before them. They denied the signs of Allah and so Allah seized them for their sins. Surely Allah is All-Powerful, Stern in retribution. 52 This is because Allah has never changed a favor which He has conferred upon a people until they change their own condition; and because Allah is Hearing, Knowing; 53 Like Pharaoh's family and those who have gone before them, they belied the signs of their Lord, and so We destroyed them for their sins and drowned Pharaoh's family. They were all harmdoers. 54 Verily, The worst of moving (living) creatures before Allah are those who disbelieve, - so they shall not believe. 55 They are those with whom thou didst make a covenant, but they break their covenant every time, and they have not the fear (of Allah). 56 So if you meet them in war, make of them a fearsome example for those who follow them that they may he admonished. 57 And if you fear treachery on the part of a people, then throw back to them on terms of equality; surely Allah does not love the treacherous. 58
