And if they belie you, say: "For me are my deeds and for you are your deeds! You are innocent of what I do, and I am innocent of what you do!" 41 Some of them appear to be listening to you; but can you make the deaf hear, incapable as they are of understanding? 42 And some of them look unto thee; what, wilt thou then guide the blind, though they do not see? 43 Verily Allah will not deal unjustly with man in aught: It is man that wrongs his own soul. 44 And on the day when He will gather them as though they had not stayed but an hour of the day, they will know each other. They will perish indeed who called the meeting with Allah to be a lie, and they are not followers of the right direction. 45 Whether We show thee a part of that We promise them, or We call thee unto Us, to Us they shall return; then God is witness of the things they do 46 And for each community there hath been sent an apostle; and when their apostle hath arrived, the matter between them is decreed in equity, and they are not wronged. 47 And they say: "When will be this promise (the torment or the Day of Resurrection), - if you speak the truth?" 48 (Muhammad), tell them, "I have no control over my suffering or benefits unless God wills. Every nation is destined to live for an appointed time. They can neither delay that time nor can they cause it to come sooner. 49 Tell them: 'Did you consider (what you would do) were His chastisement to fall upon you suddenly by night or by day? So why are the culprits seeking to hasten its coming? 50 Besides, if He was to send them the punishment which they want to quickly experience, would they then have faith? 51 Then it shall be said to the evildoers: 'Taste the punishment of eternity! Shall you be recompensed except according to what you earned' 52 And they ask thee to tell them if it be true. Say thou: yeah by my Lord, it is the very truth, and ye shall not be able to escape. 53
