(One day) the king said (to his courtiers): "I saw seven fat cows in a dream being devoured by seven lean ones, and seven ears of corn that were green and seven others that were seared. O courtiers, tell me the significance of my dream, if you know how to interpret them." 43 They answered: " [This is one of] the most involved and confusing of dreams, and we have no deep knowledge of the real meaning of dreams." 44 Then the man who was released (one of the two who were in prison), now at length remembered and said: "I will tell you its interpretation, so send me forth." 45 Yusuf! O truthful one! explain to us seven fat kine which seven lean ones devoured, and seven green ears and (seven) others dry, that I may go back to the people so that they may know. 46 [(Yusuf (Joseph)] said: "For seven consecutive years, you shall sow as usual and that (the harvest) which you reap you shall leave in ears, (all) - except a little of it which you may eat. 47 Then will come after that seven difficult [years] which will consume what you saved for them, except a little from which you will store. 48 "Then thereafter will come a year in which people will have abundant rain and in which they will press (wine and oil)." 49
