The king said: 'I saw in a vision seven fatted cows being devoured by seven lean ones; and seven green ears of corn and seven others withered. My counselors, tell me the meaning of my vision, if you can interpret visions' 43 They said: Confused dreams, and we do not know the interpretation of dreams. 44 And of the two the one who was released said – and after a long time he had remembered – “I will tell you its interpretation, therefore send me forth.” 45 Yusuf! O truthful one! explain to us seven fat kine which seven lean ones devoured, and seven green ears and (seven) others dry, that I may go back to the people so that they may know. 46 He said: ye shall sow seven years as is your went; and that which ye reap leave in its ears, except a little whereof ye may eat. 47 “Then after that will come seven hard years which will devour all that you had stored for them, except a little which you may save.” 48 And after that there will come a year in which the people will be delivered from all distress, and in which they will press [oil and wine as before]." 49
