Remember when Abraham prayed: "O Lord, make this a city of peace, and preserve me and my progeny from worshipping idols: 35 Many a man have they led astray, O Lord. So he who follows me is truly of me; but as for him who disobeys me, surely You are forgiving and kind. 36 'Our Lord, I have settled some of my offspring in a barren valley near Your Holy House; our Lord, in order that they establish the prayer. Make the hearts of people yearn towards them, and provide them with fruits, in order that they are thankful. 37 "O our Lord! truly Thou dost know what we conceal and what we reveal: for nothing whatever is hidden from Allah, whether on earth or in heaven. 38 Praise be to Allah, Who has given me in old age Ismail and Ishaq; most surely my Lord is the Hearer of prayer: 39 My Lord! Enable me and my offspring to establish Prayer, and do accept, our Lord, this prayer of mine. 40 Our Lord! forgive me and my parents and the believers on the Day whereon will be set up the reckoning. 41
