And assuredly We have created human being from ringing clay of loam moulded. 26 As We fashioned jinns before from intense radiated heat. 27 When your Lord said to the angels, "I will create the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay. 28 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him. 29 So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 Save Iblis. He refused to be among the prostrate. 31 "How is it, O Iblis," said (the Lord), "you did not join those who bowed in homage?" 32 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am not the one to prostrate myself to a human being, whom You created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud." 33 Said He, 'Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed. 34 And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense." 35 He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." 36 Said Allah, “You are of those given respite.” 37 Till the period of the time made known. 38 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong,- 39 “Except those among them who are Your chosen bondmen.” 40 He said: This is a right way with Me: 41 Surely, you shall have no power over My true servants, except those misguided ones who choose to follow you. 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44
