We have created the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay 26 And the jinn We created before from scorching fire. 27 And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered, 28 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him. 29 So the angels made obeisance, all of them together, 30 Not so Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 He said: O Iblis! what excuse have you that you are not with those who make obeisance? 32 He replied: 'I will not prostrate to a mortal You have created of clay, from molded mud' 33 Allah said: then get thee forth therefrom; verily thou art one damned. 34 And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment. 35 He said: My Lord! then respite me till the time when they are raised. 36 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 37 Till the Day of appointed time. 38 He said, “My Lord! I swear by the fact that You sent me astray, I shall distract them in the earth, and I shall lead all of them astray.” 39 “Except those among them who are Your chosen bondmen.” 40 [Allah] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight. 41 Surely, as regards My servants, you have no authority, over them except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 And surely Hell is the promised place of them all: 43 It has seven gates, and through each gate a portion of them belong. 44
