Al-Hijjr 4 of 6
Verily those who keep away from evil and follow the straight path shall be in the midst of gardens and springs of water. 45 'In peace and security, enter them' 46 We shall cast out any grudge they may have in their hearts. (There) they will sit on couches face to face like brothers together. 47 There no sense of fatigue shall touch them, nor shall they (ever) be asked to leave. 48 ۞ Tell My servants that I am indeed the Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful; 49 And that My Penalty will be indeed the most grievous Penalty. 50 Inform them about the matter of Abraham's guests. 51 [how,] when they presented themselves before him and bade him peace, he answered: "Behold, we are afraid of you!" 52 They said, "Do not be afraid. We come to you with good news. You shall have a son who shall be endowed with great knowledge." 53 He said, “Do you convey to me the glad tidings upon old age reaching me? So upon what do you convey glad tidings?” (* Prophet Ibrahim said this out of surprise.) 54 They said: We give you good news with truth, therefore be not of the despairing. 55 "Who would despair of the mercy of his Lord," he answered, "but those who go astray." 56 Messengers, what is your task?" 57 They answered: "We are sent to people lost in sin [who are to be destroyed,] 58 barring Lot's household, all of whom, behold, we shall save 59 Except his wife." Allah decreed that she is of those who remain behind. 60

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
