Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 he said: "Surely you are an unknown folk." 62 They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing, 63 We have come to you for a genuine purpose and We are true in what we say. 64 “Therefore journey with your household while a portion of the night remains, and you tread behind them – and none of you may turn around and see, and proceed directly to the place you are commanded to.” 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. 66 The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men). 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not! 69 They answered: "Have we not forbidden thee [to offer protection] to any kind of people?" 70 He said: "There are my daughters (to marry), if ye must act (so)." 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay. 74 Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for those who can read the signs: 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 Verily there is a Sign in this for the believers. 77 And indeed the Dwellers of the Woods were unjust. 78 So We inflicted retribution on them, and they are both, indeed, on an open road (still) pursued. 79
