Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 he said: "Behold, you are people unknown [here]!" 62 They said, 'Nay, but we have brought thee that concerning which they were doubting. 63 and we have come to you with the truth, and surely we are truthful, 64 So travel with thy household in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs. Let none of you turn round, but go whither ye are commanded. 65 We communicated to him Our decree that the guilty ones would be destroyed by the morning. 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 [Lout (Lot)] said: "Verily! these are my guests, so shame me not. 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone? 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 [But the angels spoke thus:] "As thou livest, [O Lot, they will not listen to thee:] behold, in their delirium [of lust] they are but blindly stumbling to and fro!" 72 Therefore the scream overcame them at sunrise. 73 And We turned the township upside down and rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Surely in that are signs for such as mark; 75 And verily! They (the cities) were right on the highroad (from Makkah to Syria i.e. the place where the Dead Sea is now). 76 Indeed in that is a sign for the believers. 77 And indeed the Dwellers of the Woods were unjust. 78 So We inflicted retribution on them, and they are both, indeed, on an open road (still) pursued. 79

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
