And when the sent angels came to the house of Lut. 61 He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me). 62 They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, 63 And we have brought unto thee the truth, and verily we say sooth. 64 So set out thou with thy house hold in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs, and let not one of you look back, and pass whither ye are commanded. 65 And [through Our messengers] We revealed unto him this decree: "The last remnant of those [sinners] shall be wiped out in the morn." 66 And the people of the city came [unto Lot,] rejoicing at the glad tiding. 67 [Lot] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me. 68 And fear Allah, and humiliate me not. 69 They replied, "Did we not forbid you to bring anyone to your house?" 70 He said: these are my daughters, if act ye must. 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. 74 Surely in that are signs for such as mark; 75 And surely it is on a road that still abides. 76 Indeed in that is a sign for the believers. 77 And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers; 78 So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
