And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 he said: "Behold, you are people unknown [here]!" 62 They replied, "We have come to you about the matter which the (unbelievers) have rejected. 63 “And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful.” 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And We communicated to him the decree that by the morning those people will be totally destroyed. 66 The people of the town came along, revelling, 67 [Lout (Lot)] said: "Verily! these are my guests, so shame me not. 68 and fear God, and do not degrade me.' 69 They replied: "Did we not forbid you again and again to extend hospitality to all and sundry?" 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 And We made the upside there of downwards, and We rained on them stones of baked clay. 74 Surely! In this are signs, for those who see (or understand or learn the lessons from the Signs of Allah). 75 it is still there on the highway -- 76 Verily there is a Sign in this for the believers. 77 AND THE DWELLERS of the wooded dales [of Madyan, too,] were inveterate evildoers, 78 So We inflicted retribution on them, and they are both, indeed, on an open road (still) pursued. 79
