Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I CALL THE night to witness when it covers over, 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 and so I warn you of the raging fire 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
