Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 'No' they replied: 'We bring you (news) of that concerning which they were doubting. 63 We bring you the truth, and indeed we are truthful. 64 "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered." 65 We informed him that the unbelievers would be utterly destroyed. 66 Then came the people of the city, exulting at the news. 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 "And fear Allah and disgrace me not." 69 They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone? 70 "Here are my daughters," said Lot, "if you are so active." 71 By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. 72 Therefore the scream overcame them at sunrise. 73 We laid it (the city) upside down and rained stones of baked clay upon them. 74 Surely! In this are signs, for those who see (or understand or learn the lessons from the Signs of Allah). 75 This (city) lies on a road that still survives. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And indeed the Dwellers of the Woods were unjust. 78 So We took vengeance on them. Both are still there on the highway, plain for all to see. 79

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
