So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 he said, 'Surely you are a people unknown to me!' 62 They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, 63 and we are bringing thee the certainty [of its fulfilment]: for, behold, we are speaking the truth indeed. 64 "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered." 65 And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the town came rejoicing. 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 Fear Allah and do not disgrace me' 69 They answered: "Have we not forbidden thee [to offer protection] to any kind of people?" 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly. 72 Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise. 73 And We turned the city upside down, and rained on them stones of hardened lava. 74 Surely in this are signs for those who examine. 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Behold! in this is a sign for those who believed. 77 The dwellers of the Thicket were harmdoers. 78 So We took vengeance on them. And verily both are on a high-road open. 79
