When the messengers came to Lot and his family, 61 he said: "Behold, you are people unknown [here]!" 62 They said, 'Nay, but we have brought thee that concerning which they were doubting. 63 "Yet we bring to you the truth, and we are truthful. 64 Depart with your family in a part of the night and walk behind them and let none of you turn round. Go to a place where you are commanded' 65 We informed him that the unbelievers would be utterly destroyed. 66 And there came the people of the city rejoicing 67 He said: "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 And guard against (the punishment of) Allah and do not put me to shame. 69 They said, 'Have we not forbidden thee all beings?' 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 By your life! In their drunkenness they were truly blind. 72 and the Cry seized them at the sunrise, 73 We turned the town upside-down and showered on them lumps of baked clay. 74 Herein are really signs for those who discern. 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust. 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
