The dwellers in El-Hijr cried lies to the Envoys. 80 We brought them Our signs, and they turned away from them. 81 They would carve secure houses out of the mountains. 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 that they earned did not avail them. 84 We have not created but with reason the heavens and the earth and all that lies within them. The Hour (of the great change) is certain to come. So turn away (from them) with a grace. 85 Your Lord is indeed the Creator of all, the All-Knowing. 86 We have given you the seven oft-recited verses and the great Quran. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And say: 'I am the plain warner' 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 and also divided the Quran believing in some parts and rejecting others. 91 So by your Lord, We will surely question them all 92 about what they did. 93 Promulgate thou that which thou art commanded, and turn away from the associaters. 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 We certainly know that their statements sorely grieve you. 97 So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]. 98 and worship your Lord until what is certain [death] comes to you. 99
