The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 We showed them miracles but they ignored them. 81 And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure. 82 So the rumbling overtook them in the morning; 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness. 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator of all things, the Knowing. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 by your Lord, We shall question them all 92 Of what they used to do. 93 (O Prophet), proclaim what you are commanded, and pay no heed to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. 94 We will, surely, suffice you against those who mock, 95 Those who set up another god with Allah; so they shall soon know. 96 We know indeed thy breast is straitened by the things they say. 97 Glorify and praise your Lord and be with those who prostrate themselves before God. 98 And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee. 99
