And the dwellers in Al-Hijr denied (Our) messengers. 80 And though We had given them Our signs they turned away from them. 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the mountains (feeling themselves) secure. 82 Then the Blast caught them in the morning 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 And assuredly We have vouchsafed unto thee seven of the repetitions and the mighty Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 Say, "Indeed, I am simply one who warns." 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account, 92 About their deeds. 93 Hence, proclaim openly all that thou hast been bidden [to say,] and leave alone all those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God: 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 Therefore proclaim the Purity of your Lord with praise, and be of those who prostrate. 98 and worship your Lord until what is certain [death] comes to you. 99
