Now surely, unto Pharaoh's folk [too] came such warnings; 41 They rejected each one of Our signs. So We seized them with the grip of one mighty and powerful. 42 Are your unbelievers (of Makkah) any better than they? Or have you been granted any immunity in the Scriptures? 43 Or do they say: “We are a strong legion, strong enough for victory?” 44 The hosts shall soon be routed and they shall be put to flight. 45 Nay, but the Hour is their tryst, and the Hour is very calamitous and bitter. 46 Surely the guilty are in error and distress. 47 On that Day they will be dragged into the fire faces foremost, (and told:) "Taste the feel of Hell." 48 We have created everything in a determined measure. 49 And Our command is but one (word) swift as the winking of an eye. 50 And verily We have destroyed your fellows; but is there any that remembereth? 51 And everything they did is in written records. 52 every action, small or great, is noted down. 53 [Hence, too,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves in [a paradise of] gardens and running waters, 54 Firmly established in the favour of a Mighty King. 55
