The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 But the Shout seized them in the morning, 83 And all that which they used to earn availed them not. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for a genuine purpose. The Day of Judgment will certainly approach, so (Muhammad) forgive them graciously. 85 Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator. 86 (Muhammad), We have given you the seven most repeated (verses) and the great Quran. 87 So covet not things We have bestowed on a portion of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and protect those who believe; 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 Those who break the Qur'an into parts. 91 But, by thy Sustainer! [On the Day of Judgment] We shall indeed call them to account, one and all, 92 As to what they did. 93 So declare to them what We have enjoined, and turn away from idolaters. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 Who set some other god along with Allah. But they will come to know. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99
