It is He who sends down rain from the sky; from it is drink and from it is foliage in which you pasture [animals]. 10 He groweth for you thereby the corn and olives and date-palms and grapes and all kinds of fruit. Verily therein is a sign for a people who ponder. 11 He has made the night and the day and the sun and the moon subservient to you; and all the stars are subservient to His command. Surely in this there are signs for men of understanding. 12 And whatsoever He hath created for you in the earth of divers hues, lo! therein is indeed a portent for people who take heed. 13 And He it is Who has subjected the sea that you may eat fresh fish from it and bring forth ornaments from it that you can wear. And you see ships ploughing their course through it so that you may go forth seeking His Bounty and be grateful to Him. 14 And he has placed firm mountains on earth, lest it sway with you, and rivers and paths, so that you might find your way, 15 as well as [various other] means of orientation: for [it is] by the stars that men find their way. 16 Is He who creates as he who does not create? Will you not remember? 17 For, were you to count the favours of Allah, you will not be able to count them. Surely Allah is Ever Forgiving, Most Merciful. 18 And God knows what you keep secret and what you publish. 19 And those whom they call on besides Allah have not created anything while they are themselves created; 20 They are not living but are dead. They can not know when they will be raised. 21
