On the Day when We raise up a witness from every people, those who were bent on denying the truth will not be permitted to put forward excuses, or to make amends. 84 When the wrongdoers face their punishment, it shall not be lightened for them, nor shall they be granted any reprieve. 85 When those who gave partners to Allah will see their "partners", they will say: "Our Lord! these are our 'partners,' those whom we used to invoke besides Thee." But they will throw back their word at them (and say): "Indeed ye are liars!" 86 (On the Day of Judgment) the disbelievers will submit themselves to God and whatever they had falsely invented will disappear. 87 Those who disbelieved and prevented from the way of Allah – We added punishment upon the punishment – the recompense of their mischief. 88 (O Muhammad), warn them of the coming of a Day when We shall bring forth a witness against them from each community and We shall bring you forth as a witness against them all; (and it is for that purpose that) We sent down the Book to you which makes everything clear, and serves as a guidance and mercy and glad tidings to those who have submitted to Allah. 89
