And slay not your children for fear of poverty; We will provide for you and them; surely the slaying of them is a grievous sin. 31 Do not commit adultery, for it is an indecent thing and an evil course. 32 And slay not the life which Allah hath forbidden save with right. Whoso is slain wrongfully, We have given power unto his heir, but let him not commit excess in slaying. Lo! he will be helped. 33 Do not get close to the property of the orphans (unless it is for a good reason) until they are mature and strong. Keep your promise; you will be questioned about it. 34 Give full measure, when you measure, and weigh with accurate scales. That is fair, and better in the end. 35 (O man), follow not that whereof thou hast no knowledge. Lo! the hearing and the sight and the heart - of each of these it will be asked. 36 And walk not on earth with haughty self-conceit: for, verily, thou canst never rend the earth asunder, nor canst thou ever grow as tall as the mountains! 37 All this-- the evil of it-- is hateful in the sight of your Lord. 38 This is some of the wisdom your Lord has revealed to you. So do not take another god apart from God, or you will be cast into Hell, reproved, ostracised. 39 Hath then your Lord distinguished you with sons and taken for Himself females from among the angels? Verily ye say a saying mighty? 40
