They question you about the Spirit. Say, "The Spirit is at my Lord's command, and you have been granted but little knowledge." 85 Had We wanted, We could have removed the Spirit through whom We sent you revelation. Then you would not have found anyone to intercede with Us for you 86 except for Mercy from your Lord; for His favor to you is great indeed. 87 Say: "If the mankind and the jinns were together to produce the like of this Quran, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another." 88 And assuredly We have variously propounded for mankind in this Qur'an every kind of similitude, yet most men have refused everything except infidelity. 89 And they say, "We will not believe you until you break open for us from the ground a spring. 90 or that there be a garden of palms and vines for you and then you cause rivers to abundantly flow forth through them; 91 “Or you cause the sky to fall upon us in pieces like you said – or bring Allah and the angels as Witness.” 92 Or you should have a house of gold, or you should ascend into heaven, and we will not believe in your ascending until you bring down to us a book which we may read. Say: Glory be to my Lord; am I aught but a mortal apostle? 93
