In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Ta. Ha. 1 We have not sent down the Koran to you for you to be tired, 2 But only as a reminder for those who fear [Allah] - 3 It is a sending down from Him who has created the earth, and the high heavens, 4 The ever-merciful, established on the throne (of authority). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, and all that lies between them, and underneath the soil. 6 And if you utter the saying aloud, then surely He knows the secret, and what is yet more hidden. 7 God - there is no deity save Him; His [alone] are the attributes of perfection! 8 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses? 9 When he saw the fire, he said to his family, "Wait here for I can see a fire. Perhaps I shall bring you a burning torch or find a way to some fire". 10 So when he came near the fire, it was announced, “O Moosa!” 11 "O Moses, I am verily your Lord, so take off your shoes, for you are in the holy plain of Towa. 12 And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed [to you]. 13 I Am the only God. Worship Me and be steadfast in prayer to have My name always in your mind. 14 Lo! the Hour is surely coming. But I will to keep it hidden, that every soul may be rewarded for that which it striveth (to achieve). 15 “Therefore never let one, who does not accept faith in it and follows his own desires, prevent you from accepting this, so then you become ruined.” 16 And what is in your right hand, O Moses?" 17 'It is my staff," Moses replied, "upon it I lean and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep and for me there are other uses in it' 18 The Lord said, "Moses, throw it on the ground". 19 So he threw it - and lo! it was a snake, moving rapidly. 20 The Lord said, "Hold the serpent and do not be afraid; We will bring it back to its original form." 21 And place your hand in your armpit, it will come forth shining white, without blemish. This is another Sign of Allah, 22 "That We may show you (some) of Our Greater Signs. 23 Go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 24

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
