He said: O my Lord! Expand my breast for me, 25 Make my task easy 26 and my tongue fluent 27 so that they may understand my speech; 28 “And appoint for me a viceroy from among my family.” 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Increase through him my strength 31 and let him share my task 32 so that we may glorify 33 “And profusely remember You.” 34 "For Thou art He that (ever) regardeth us." 35 Said He, 'Thou art granted, Moses, thy petition. 36 It is the second time that We have bestowed upon you Our favor. 37 When We inspired to your mother what We inspired, 38 Saying: Put him into a chest, then cast it down into the river, then the river shall throw him on the shore; there shall take him up one who is an enemy to Me and enemy to him, and I cast down upon you love from Me, and that you might be brought up before My eyes; 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 for I have chosen thee for Mine Own service. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs, and do not be remiss in remembering Me. 42 "Go, both of you, to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience and behaved as an arrogant and as a tyrant). 43 Both of you must speak with him in a gentle manner so that perhaps he may come to himself or have fear (of God)." 44 They said: "Our Lord! Verily! We fear lest he should hasten to punish us or lest he should transgress (all bounds against us)." 45 The Lord replied them, "Do not be afraid; I Am with you all the time, listening and seeing." 46 Go to him and say, 'We are both messengers from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not oppress them. We have brought you a Sign from your Lord, and may peace be upon whoever follows the right guidance; 47 It has been revealed to us that punishment will befall him who denies and turns away. 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 He said, 'Our Lord is He who gave everything its creation, then guided it.' 50 He said: What then is the state of the generations of old? 51 He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a Record. My Lord neither erreth nor forgetteth, 52 It is He who has laid out the earth for you and traced routes in it and sent down water from the sky. We have brought forth every sort of plant with it, 53 Eat and pasture your cattle; most surely there are signs in this for those endowed with understanding. 54
