(Moses) said: My Lord! relieve my mind 25 "And ease my task for me; 26 "And remove the impediment from my speech, 27 "That they understand my speech, 28 And give to me an aider from my family: 29 “That is Haroon, my brother.” 30 by him confirm my strength, 31 and let him share my task, 32 That we may exalt You much 33 and remember You much: 34 "Verily! You are of us Ever a Well-Seer." 35 Said He, 'Thou art granted, Moses, thy petition. 36 We had already shown you favor 37 when We revealed what was revealed unto thy mother: 38 [Saying], 'Cast him into the chest and cast it into the river, and the river will throw it onto the bank; there will take him an enemy to Me and an enemy to him.' And I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye. 39 Recall, when your sister went along, saying: 'Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him?' Thus We brought you back to your mother so that her heart might be gladdened and she might not grieve. Moses, recall when you slew a person. We delivered you from distress and made you go through several trials. Then you stayed for several years among the people of Midian, and now you have come at the right moment as ordained. 40 I have chosen you for Me. 41 So go forth, both you and your brother, with My Signs, and do not slacken in remembering Me. 42 Go both of you to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel. 43 yet speak gently to him, that haply he may be mindful, or perchance fear.' 44 The two [brothers] said: "O our Sustainer! Verily, we fear lest he act hastily with regard to us, or lest he [continue to] transgress all bounds of equity." 45 He said: "Fear not: for I am with you: I hear and see (everything). 46 So go to him, and say: verily we are two apostles of thy Lord, so let go with us the Children of Isra'il, and torment them not; surely we have come unto thee with a sign from thy Lord: and peace be upon him who followeth the guidance. 47 "'Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.'" 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 He said, "Our Lord is He who gave each thing its form and then guided [it]." 50 He said: then what happened to the former generations? 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 Who hath appointed for you the earth as a bed, and hath opened for you therein pathways, and hath sent down from the heaven water, and thereby We have brought forth kinds of plants, various. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
