Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 Make my task easy 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 that they may understand my words. 28 and appoint for me, out of my kinsfolk, one who will help me to bear my burden: 29 Haroun, my brother, 30 Strengthen me through him, 31 And let him share my task, 32 That we may sing Your praises much, 33 And remember you a great deal. 34 “Indeed You see us.” 35 He said: You are indeed granted your petition, O Musa 36 It is the second time that We have bestowed upon you Our favor. 37 When We told your mother what We relate: 38 to lace her child in a chest and throw it into the sea which would hurl it towards the shore. Then an enemy of Mine who was also the enemy of the child would pick it up from there. I made you attractive and loveable so that you would be reared before My own eyes. 39 “When your sister went, then said, ‘Shall I show you the people who may nurse him?’ And We brought you back to your mother in order to soothe her eyes and that she may not grieve; and you killed a man, so We freed you from sorrow, and tested you to the maximum; you therefore stayed for several years among the people of Madyan; then you came (here) at an appointed time, O Moosa.” 40 And I chose you for Myself. 41 “You and your brother, both go with My signs, and do not slacken in My remembrance.” 42 Go both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds, 43 “And speak to him courteously, that perhaps he may ponder or have some fear.” 44 The two [brothers] said: "O our Sustainer! Verily, we fear lest he act hastily with regard to us, or lest he [continue to] transgress all bounds of equity." 45 The Lord replied them, "Do not be afraid; I Am with you all the time, listening and seeing." 46 So go to him, and say: verily we are two apostles of thy Lord, so let go with us the Children of Isra'il, and torment them not; surely we have come unto thee with a sign from thy Lord: and peace be upon him who followeth the guidance. 47 it has been revealed to us that punishment shall overtake him who rejects it and turns away!'" 48 The Pharaoh asked them, "Who is your Lord?" 49 He replied: "Our Sustainer is He who gives unto every thing [that exists] its true nature and form, and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment]. 50 Pharaoh said, 'And what of the former generations?' 51 Moses said, "My Lord alone has knowledge of that, recorded in a Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding. 54
