Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 and ease my task for me. 26 "And make loose the knot (the defect) from my tongue, (i.e. remove the incorrectness from my speech) [That occurred as a result of a brand of fire which Musa (Moses) put in his mouth when he was an infant]. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 16, Page 159]. 27 "So they may understand what I say: 28 and appoint for me, from my household, someone who will help me bear my burden - 29 Let it be my brother Aaron 30 To strengthen me 31 And associate him (with me) in my affair, 32 so that we may glorify You much 33 and remember You abundantly. 34 You are Well Aware of our situation." 35 He replied: 'Moses, your request is granted. 36 We have bestowed Our favour on you before this 37 when We revealed Our will to your mother, saying, 38 saying: "Put him in the box and cast it into the river. The river will cast him on to the bank, and he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his." I lavished My Love on you, and to be formed in My Sight. 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 “And I created you especially for Myself.” 41 Go, thou and thy brother, with My tokens, and be not faint in remembrance of Me. 42 “Both of you go to Firaun; he has indeed rebelled.” 43 "But speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear (Allah)." 44 'O our Lord,' said Moses and Aaron, 'truly we fear he may exceed against us, or wax insolent.' 45 [Allah] said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see. 46 Go, then; you two unto him and say, 'Behold, we are apostles sent by thy Sustainer: let, then, the children of Israel go with us, and cause them not to suffer [any longer]. We have now come unto thee with a message from thy Sustainer; and [know that His] peace shall be [only] on those who follow [His] guidance: 47 "'Verily it has been revealed to us that the Penalty (awaits) those who reject and turn away.'" 48 Pharaoh said:" Moses! Who is the Lord of the two of you?" 49 He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave everything its form and then guided it." 50 Said [Pharaoh]: "And what of all the past generations?" 51 Moses replied, "The knowledge about it is with my Lord in the Book. My Lord is free from error and forgetfulness. 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 Do you eat, and pasture your cattle! Surely in that are signs for men possessing reason. 54
