The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The time of people's reckoning has drawn near, and yet they turn aside in heedlessness. 1 Whenever there comes unto them any new reminder from their Sustainer, they but listen to it with playful amusement, 2 Their hearts trifling; and those who are unjust counsel together in secret: He is nothing but a mortal like yourselves; what! will you then yield to enchantment while you see? 3 The Lord said, "Tell them (Muhammad), 'My Lord knows all that is said in the heavens and the earth. He is All-hearing and All-knowing ". 4 Rather they said, “These are confused dreams, but in fact he has fabricated it – but in fact he is a poet; so he must bring us some sign, like those who were sent before.” 5 Not one city that We destroyed before them believed; what then, will they not believe? 6 (O Muhammad), even before you We never sent any other than human beings as Messengers, and to them We sent revelation. Ask the People of the Book if you do not know. 7 and neither did We endow them with bodies that could dispense with food nor were they immortal. 8 Then We made Our promise good to them and delivered whomsoever We pleased, and destroyed the transgressors. 9 Now, We have sent down to you a Book in which is your Remembrance. Will you not understand? 10
