O apostles! eat of the good things and do good; surely I know what you do. 51 Your religion is one and I am your Lord. Have fear of Me". 52 But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them. 53 So leave them to their ignorance for a time. 54 Do they fancy that Our continuing to give them wealth and children (means) that 55 Is [because] We hasten for them good things? Rather, they do not perceive. 56 Verily! Those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; 57 who believe in the verses of their Lord; 58 and those who associate naught with their Lord 59 who give, whatever they give in charity, with their hearts trembling at the thought that they are destined to return to their Lord; 60 It is these who hasten in every good work, and these who are foremost in them. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a record which clearly shows the truth and they will not be wronged. 62 On the contrary, their hearts are in neglect of this and their works are different than those of the believers, the works that they are doing. 63 But when We seize with the punishment those of them that live in ease, they groan. 64 [But they will be told] "Cry not in supplication today; for, behold, you shall not be succoured by Us! 65 My revelations were recited to you, but you turned your backs 66 “Priding yourself in serving the Sacred Mosque; at night you utter indecent stories in it, while discarding the truth.” 67 Pondered they not over the Word? or came there unto them that which came not unto their fathers ancient? 68 Or do they not recognize their Messenger, and so deny him? 69 Or do they say, "He is possessed"? Nay, he has brought them the Truth, but most of them hate the Truth. 70 And should the truth follow their low desires, surely the heavens and the earth and all those who are therein would have perished. Nay! We have brought to them their reminder, but from their reminder they turn aside. 71 Or do you ask of them any tribute? In that case the tribute of your Lord is better, for He is the best of providers. 72 And indeed you call them to the Straight Path. 73 but those who do not believe in the Hereafter are ever prone to deviate from the Right Way. 74 ۞ Did We have mercy on them, and remove the affliction that is upon them, they would persist in their insolence wandering blindly. 75 And indeed We grasped them with punishment, so neither did they submit themselves to their Lord, nor do they cry humbly. 76 until We open before them a gate of harsh punishment and then they will be dumbfounded. 77
