O Ye apostles! eat the good things and work righteously; verily of that which ye work I am the Knower. 51 Verily this your order is one order, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 But their nations broke their tasks into pieces; every group happy with what it has. 53 Wherefore leave thou them in their bewilderment for a season. 54 What, do they think that We succour them with of wealth and children, 55 Is [because] We hasten for them good things? Rather, they do not perceive. 56 Those who tremble in fear of their Lord, 57 Those who believe in the Signs of their Lord; 58 And those who with their Lord associate not anyone. 59 who give, whatever they give in charity, with their hearts trembling at the thought that they are destined to return to their Lord; 60 It is these who race for the good deeds, and they are foremost in them [e.g. offering the compulsory Salat (prayers) in their (early) stated, fixed times and so on]. 61 And We charge no soul except [with that within] its capacity, and with Us is a record which speaks with truth; and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, their hearts are in overwhelming ignorance with respect to it and they have besides this other deeds which they do. 63 But when We seize with the punishment those of them that live in ease, they groan. 64 [But they will be told] "Cry not in supplication today; for, behold, you shall not be succoured by Us! 65 Indeed My Verses used to be recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels (denying them, and with hatred to listen to them). 66 and arrogantly mocked and reviled them. 67 Have they not pondered over the word of God? Has something come to them that did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or is it that they did not recognise their Noble Messenger, therefore they consider him alien? 69 Or do they say, "In him is madness?" Rather, he brought them the truth, but most of them, to the truth, are averse. 70 Were the Truth to follow their desires, the order of the heavens and the earth and those who dwell in them would have been ruined. Nay, the fact is that We have brought to them their own remembrance; and yet it is from their own remembrance that they are turning away. 71 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask them for some wages? But the recompense of your Lord is better, and He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 (Muhammad), you certainly have called them to the right path, 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are from the path deviating. 74 ۞ If We took compassion on them and removed the affliction they are in, they would only wander lost in confusion. 75 And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus] 76 Until when We open upon them a door of severe chastisement, lo! they are in despair at it. 77
