Say: My Lord! If Thou shouldst show me that which they are promised. 93 "My Lord! Then (save me from Your Punishment), and put me not amongst the people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing)." 94 Assuredly, We are able to show thee that We promise them. 95 Repel thou the evil with that which is the best, We are the Best Knower of that which they utter. 96 And say, "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the incitements of the devils, 97 I seek refuge in You lest they come to me." 98 When death approaches one of the unbelievers, he says, "Lord, send me back again 99 That I may do some good I did not do (in the world)." Not so. These are only words he utters. Behind them lies the intervening barrier (stretching) to the day of their resurrection. 100 When the trumpet blast is sounded no ties of lineage will hold among them, nor will they ask after one another. 101 If the side of ones good deeds weighs heavier on a scale, he will have everlasting happiness, 102 but those whose scales are light shall forfeit their souls and live in Gehenna (Hell) for ever. 103 The Fire will scorch their faces and they will abide therein with their faces distorted. 104 [And God will say:] "Were not My messages conveyed unto you, and were you [not] wont to give them the lie?" 105 They will answer, "Lord, misfortune overcame us and we became an erring people. 106 "Our Lord! Bring us out of this; if ever we return (to evil), then indeed we shall be Zalimun: (polytheists, oppressors, unjust, and wrong-doers, etc.)." 107 He shall say: Go away into it and speak not to Me; 108 "Indeed there was a group among My bondmen who said, 'Our Lord! We have accepted faith, therefore forgive us and have mercy on us, and You are the Best Among The Merciful.' ” 109 But you took them for a laughing-stock, till they made you forget My remembrance, mocking at them. 110 I have rewarded them this day for they were constant, and they have come to attainment." 111 He will say: How long tarried ye in the earth, counting by years? 112 They will say, “We stayed a day or part of a day, so ask those who keep count.” 113 God will say, "You have indeed remained there for a short time. Would that you knew it during your life time. 114 "Did ye then think that We had created you in jest, and that ye would not be brought back to Us (for account)?" 115 God is the most exalted King and the Supreme Truth. He is the only God and the Lord of the Gracious Throne. 116 And whosoever calls upon another god with God, whereof he has no proof, his reckoning is with his Lord; surely the unbelievers shall not prosper. 117 So say: "O my Lord! grant Thou forgiveness and mercy for Thou art the Best of those who show mercy!" 118
