Pray, "Lord, if you would show me that [the punishment] of which they have been warned, 93 O my Lord, put me not among the people of the evildoers.' 94 We have the Power to strike them with torment before your very eyes. 95 Repel thou the evil with that which is the best, We are the Best Knower of that which they utter. 96 And submit, “My Lord! I seek Your refuge from the instigation of the devils.” 97 And I seek refuge in Thee, my Lord, lest they be present with me, 98 Until, when death comes to one of them he says: 'My Lord, let me go back, 99 That I may do some good I did not do (in the world)." Not so. These are only words he utters. Behind them lies the intervening barrier (stretching) to the day of their resurrection. 100 So when the trumpet is blown, there shall be no ties of relationship between them on that day, nor shall they ask of each other. 101 It will be an Hour when those whose scales are heavy, they alone will attain success; 102 But those whose balance is light, will be those who have lost their souls, in Hell will they abide. 103 Their faces will be scorched by flames, and they will grin and scowl within it. 104 "Were not My Signs rehearsed to you, and ye did but treat them as falsehood?" 105 They will say: "Our Lord! Our wretchedness overcame us, and we were (an) erring people. 106 Our Lord! Oh, bring us forth from hence! If we return (to evil) then indeed we shall be wrong-doers. 107 He will say: "Be ye driven into it (with ignominy)! And speak ye not to Me! 108 Verily there was a party of My bondmen who said: our Lord! we have believed, wherefore forgive us and have mercy upon us, and Thou art the Best of the merciful ones! 109 But you took them for a mockery until they made you forget My remembrance and you used to laugh at them. 110 I have rewarded them this day for they were constant, and they have come to attainment." 111 He shall say, 'How long have you tarried in the earth, by number of years?' 112 They will say: "We stayed a day or part of a day: but ask those who keep account." 113 He shall say, 'You have tarried but a little, did you know. 114 What! did you then think that We had created you in vain and that you shall not be returned to Us? 115 So exalted is Allah, the Sovereign, the Truth; there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Noble Throne. 116 He, who invokes another deity along with God, a deity of whose divinity he has no proof, will be brought to account by his Lord. Certainly, those who deny the truth shall never prosper. 117 And say thou: my Lord! forgive and have mercy, and Thou art the Best of the merciful ones. 118
