▼ 25 The Statute Book
Al-Furqaan 6 of 6
Blessed is He Who made constellations in the skies, and placed therein a Lamp and a Moon giving light; 61 it is He who has made night and day succeed each other, a sign for those who would take heed and would be grateful. 62 The true servants of the Gracious One are those who walk upon the earth with humility and when they are addressed by the ignorant ones, their response is, "Peace"; 63 And those who spend the night before their Lord, prostrate and standing. 64 who pray, "Lord, protect us from the torment of hell; it is a great loss. 65 "Evil indeed is it as an abode, and as a place to rest in"; 66 And those who, when spending, neither exceed the limits nor act miserly, and stay in moderation between the two. 67 And those who invoke not any other ilah (god) along with Allah, nor kill such life as Allah has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse and whoever does this shall receive the punishment. 68 (But) the Penalty on the Day of Judgment will be doubled to him, and he will dwell therein in ignominy,- 69 Excepted, however, shall be they who repent and attain to faith and do righteous deeds: for it is they whose [erstwhile] bad deeds God will transform into good ones - seeing that God is indeed much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace, 70 And whoever repents and does good deeds – so he has inclined towards Allah with repentance as was required. 71 And those who bear not false witness and, when they pass by idle talk, pass by with dignity; 72 who do not behave like the blind and the deaf, when the Revelations of their Lord are recited to them for admonition; 73 who say, "Lord, grant us joy in our wives and children and make us a model for the righteous." 74 Those will be awarded the Chamber for what they patiently endured, and they will be received therein with greetings and [words of] peace. 75 and wherein they will live for ever: what an excellent abode and what an excellent resting place! 76 Say (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) “You have no value before My Lord if you do not worship Him; so you have denied – therefore the punishment that remains, will occur.” 77
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
