Blessed is He Who made constellations in the skies, and placed therein a Lamp and a Moon giving light; 61 And He it is Who hath appointed night and day in succession, for him who desireth to remember, or desireth thankfulness. 62 And the servants of the Beneficent Allah are they who walk on the earth in humbleness, and when the ignorant address them, they say: Peace. 63 And who spend the night prostrating and standing, for their Lord. 64 Who say: "O our Lord, avert from us the torment of Hell: Its punishment is surely continuous. 65 It is indeed an evil halt and an evil abode;" 66 And those, who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor niggardly, but hold a medium (way) between those (extremes). 67 and who never invoke any [imaginary] deity side by side with God, and do not take any human beings life - [the life] which God has willed to be sacred - otherwise than in [the pursuit of] justice, and do not commit adultery. And [know that] he who commits aught thereof shall [not only] meet with a full requital 68 of sin-doubled shall be the chastisement for him on the Resurrection Day, and he shall dwell therein humbled, 69 except for those who repent and believe and do good deeds. God will change the evil deeds of such people into good ones: He is most forgiving and most merciful. 70 and whosoever repents, and does righteousness, he truly turns to God in repentance. 71 (And the servants of the Merciful are those:) who do not bear witness to falsehood and who; if they have ever to pass by what is vain, pass by like dignified people: 72 who do not behave like the blind and the deaf, when the Revelations of their Lord are recited to them for admonition; 73 And who submit, “Our Lord, soothe our eyes with our wives and our children, and make us leaders of the pious.” 74 Those shall be rewarded with the highest apartment, because they persevered; and therein they shall be met with a greeting and salutation. 75 therein to abide: [and] how goodly an abode and [how high] a station! 76 Say thou: my Lord careth not for you were it not for your prayer; whereas ye have even belied, so presently this denial shall come as the cleaving punishment. 77
True are the words of God the Almighty.
