The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta-Sin-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 These are the Verses of the manifest Book [this Quran, which was promised by Allah in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel), makes things clear]. 2 (O Muhammad), you will perhaps grieve yourself to death because these people do not believe. 3 We could send down from the heavens a sign to them if We pleased, before which their heads would remain bowed. 4 And there cometh not unto them any fresh admonition from the Compassionate but they are wont to be therefrom backsliders. 5 So they have cried lies; therefore assuredly tidings will come to them of that they mocked at. 6 Did they not look at the earth - how much We have produced therein from every noble kind? 7 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 8 Your Lord is the Majestic and the All-merciful. 9
