And (remember) when your Lord called Musa (Moses) (saying): "Go to the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing), 10 The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil)? 11 He said, “My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.” 12 and "my breast is straitened and my tongue is not fluent; so send Aaron as well; 13 besides, they accuse me of a crime, and I fear that they may put me to death." 14 He said: 'Never so, go both of you with Our signs; We shall be with you, listening 15 So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; 16 Send forth with us the Children of Israel' 17 (Firon) said: Did we not bring you up as a child among us, and you tarried among us for (many) years of your life? 18 "And thou didst a deed of thine which (thou knowest) thou didst, and thou art an ungrateful (wretch)!" 19 Moses replied, "I did that when I was one of the misguided, 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord bestowed on me wisdom and made me one of the sent ones. 21 “And is this some great reward for which you express favour upon me – that you have enslaved the Descendants of Israel?” 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 He said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between, if ye seek to be convinced. 24 The Pharaoh said to the people around him, "Did you hear that?" 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers. 26 [Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad." 27 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!" 28 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "If you choose an ilah (god) other than me, I will certainly put you among the prisoners." 29 Said he: "Even if I should bring about before thee something that clearly shows the truth?" 30 Said he: Bring it then, if you are of the truthful ones. 31 So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)! 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
