'Aad denied the messengers 123 When their brother Hud said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 124 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 125 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 126 And I ask of you no hire therefor: my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 127 "Will you, in your wanton folly, build [idolatrous] altars on every height, 128 and do you take to you castles, haply to dwell forever? 129 And when ye seize, ye seize like unto tyrants. 130 So fear God, and obey me; 131 Have fear of Him Who has provided you with all the (good) things you know; 132 Provided you with grazing livestock and children 133 and with gardens and springs. 134 "Truly I fear for you the Penalty of a Great Day." 135 They said: "It is the same to us if you warn us or do not warn. 136 this is nothing but the habit of the ancients, 137 And we are not going to be tormented. 138 So they belied him, and We destroyed them. Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140
