(The nation of) Aad belied their Messengers. 123 When their brother Hood said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 124 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 I ask no recompense of you; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 127 Do you build on every height a monument? Vain is it that you do: 128 and do you take to you castles, haply to dwell forever? 129 When you attack, you attack as tyrants do. 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 Fear Him who has bestowed on you what you know, 132 Gave you increase of cattle and sons, 133 gardens, and springs. 134 I fear for you the chastisement of an Awesome Day." 135 They said: It is the same to us whether you admonish or are not one of the admonishers 136 this is nothing but a habit of the ancients: 137 “And we will not be punished.” 138 And they belied him; so We destroyed them. Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
